  The topic of my PhD was quality of palliative care in Flanders, Belgium. During a period of 5 years years I developed and tested a set of quality indicators to monitor quality of palliative care services in Flanders.Therefore I used a 3 step methodology: 1) developing the indicator set making use of a literature review and several expert consultations, 2) testing the indicator set for feasiblilty, usefulness and finetuning it, and 3) preparing implementation by identifying barriers and facilitators for the use of quality indicators in palliative care.
