  Project Intern- Data Analyst

  Patient Access Center (PAC), at Loyola University Health System (LUHS) replaced the old appointment scheduling system in 8 departments in December 2012. The goal of this project was to determine impact of this new appointment system for influencing subsequent rollout in other departments.- Employed statistical techniques on the data provided by LUHS to meet goals of PAC system.- Approach Followed: Data collection, classification, extraction, analysis and Inference- Identified KPIs (7 out of 53) which would have the most impact on the Performance of PAC.- Performed Variance Analysis, Ratio Analysis and T-test to identify patterns and to identify the departments with maximum impact.- Used Linear Regression technique and recommended that PAC executives should answer a call within 41 seconds to reduce the Abandonment Rate to < 5%.- Used Moving Average and Trend Analysis techniques to forecast the number of new patients coming in to LUHS because of PAC (for 2nd quarter of 2014).- Calculated the revenue benefits from PAC as compared to other modes of patient appointments by using parameters like employee salaries, cost per call etc.- Provided our recommendations for the minimum amount of time it would take for a positive impact of PAC for subsequent rollouts in other departments in LUHS and suggested improvements in areas where required.
