  At the media monitoring section I was expected to stay completely up-to-date with all local and international news pertaining to the UAE and the region. I also wrote daily news reports and analyses to be submitted to a diversity of government officials. I had to filter out white noise and weak content and assess the significance of the content before presenting it. My main role as an assistant researcher was to conduct group research projects from the brainstorming sessions to gathering data and writing the reports. Here, management consistently nominated me to represent ECSSR at local and international conferences by presenting our points of view at such events. My research and public speaking skills significantly improved in this period, as well as my awareness to economic and political events pertaining to the UAE and the region. I briefly worked on the development of the Media Department's analytical reports as well as encouraged a creative space for the development of innovative media analysis I was aide to the Director General in his daily communications and I also joined his international delegations
