      Envisioned, planned, and managed district transition to universal set of curriculum guidelines and student performance expectations. Led department operations and logistics, including oversight of annual budget, and assumed responsibility for department’s master scheduling formerly held by Principal. Recruited, hired, coached, and evaluated English faculty members. Directed department of 11 full-time faculty members and taught 5 sections of sophomore and senior English, including an interdisciplinary course in American Studies.- Created and implemented innovative School Council, a policy committee comprised of faculty, administrators, and students to promote democratic processes in establishment of school’s strategic direction.- Initiated the first and only student-run, permanent art mural in the school, fostering student pride and connection. - Planned and introduced “challenge by choice” enrollment initiative, expanding access to challenging and sought-after courses across the humanities for all students through elimination of teacher-driven tracking practices.- Steered the integration of new technology into English classrooms, growing student engagement and performance.- Led implementation of block-scheduling trials to discover systems in which students best learn and perform.
