      I lead a team of 10 Technicians and 50 Technical Operators to maintain and operate tobacco machines at optimum efficiency to drive company profitability. I implemented a new maintenance strategy that saw the Overall Equipment efficiecy go up from 42% in 2010 to 70% at the end of 2012. This entailed the introduction of maintenance planning, execution and control system and entrenching the culture of predictive and preventive maintenance culture among the team.I am incharge of the Spares store ensuring that there is a balance between working capital held in spares and sufficient spares supply to run the factory with zero downtime due to lack of spare.I oversee the Technology workstream in all machine installation projects in the factory applying Prince2 methodology of project management. Having gone through intensive training on Fibex technology i lead the team in the installation of the Fibex plant that delivers huge product cost savings year on year to the business. Show less

This involves high level of synergy between planning, production, maintenance, EHS and quality sections.I was the project Lead for recently completed PMD Upgrade project that started in 2011 that saw all machinery replaced with high efficiency, high capacity machines ensuring that the PMD is strategically positioned to satisfy Cut rag tobacco needs in East and Central Africa as well as Egypt. I ensured seamless execution of the project with shutdowns not affecting delivery of product to the consumer.I am contract Manger for two key suppliers (Total Kenya and MMA Engineering) for the factory ensuring proper contract management that entails setting SMART Key perfomance indicators and tracking them,quarterly supplier evaluations and feedback ensuring good service delivery to the factory.
