  Here, I worked as part of the pricing and development team. My main duties involved reassessing a large range of quotes than can be mainly categorised under pension annuities and equity release. Another one of my duties is to update software used by the company with it's daily yield performance to enable our pricing to be more accurate.Throughout the day the team receives a large and varied amount of request from other departments. Collaborating with the other department we categorise and prioritise the requests. As an assistant, I then make my way through each of the categories, picking up requests based on their SLA and on what other assistants have picked up. Using my communication skills has helped a great deal in this role, constantly having to negotiate deadlines between departments and amongst the other assistant to ensure all categories are within SLA.Working in a fast paced environment has enabled me to be able to learn and apply new techniques/procedures with speed. This has come in handy when receiving a back log of quotes from another department and being able to deal with them without affecting the SLA (service level agreement) of our other requests. Using excel every day improved my ability to manipulate and use spreadsheets, also allowing me to identify and implement development opportunities in some of the spreadsheets/tools that we use.
