FahlmanComputationally modeled Li adsorption on edge-oxidized graphene nanoribbons and oxygen chemisorption on pristine, B-doped, and N-doped carbon nanotubes of varying diameters. Experimentally synthesized and tested the electrochemical performance of oxidized graphene nanoribbons and with their thermally reduced counterparts.

Developed crystallographic prototype encyclopedia with software to automatically generate new materials for simulation. Developed algorithm to identify and classify structure-types, while analyzing structural similarity (symmetries, local geometries, and complete structure) to ensure uniqueness.
