  Appointed as a third sergeant in 3 Signals Battalion, I was accountable to lead a team of three soldiers. Often, I had to assist in supervising the training regime for fellow soldiers. In addition, elected to be the head of administration, logistics-in-charge, secretary to Officer-in-Commanding and leader of operations team, I held several responsibilities during my service.Leader of a four men outfield team, as Operations Signal Control Specialist, I assisted in the presentation of 'live' movements status updates to commanders. Teamwork was required to attain maximum efficiency for every exercise. Moreover, on-the-ground problem-solving was necessary for communication of important messages.As administration head for unit company, I needed to ensure that paperwork were up to date. My daily presence in the company was crucial as collaboration with the headquarters and my consent on several administrative matters were frequently required. Hence, my contribution was substantial in ensuring smooth operating procedures for my company.Responsibilities as logistics-in-charge include monthly stock-taking, equipment maintenance and designation of equipment usage. Cooperation with the headquarters, various companies and my colleagues was largely required. Thus, good networking and relationships forged with other personnel were essential.Due to my vast network of contacts within the Battalion, I was also appointed as the personal secretary to my Officer-in-Commanding.
