  During this internship, I have expanded my knowledge and skills in bioinformatics to support the institute's research efforts. With a solid foundation in computational biology, statistical analysis, and programming languages, I tackled complex genomic datasets and develop innovative solutions that shed light on the underlying genetic mechanisms behind diseases. I will be working with transcriptomics, microbiome analysis and proteomics to gain even more experience in the field. I aided in the gathering and mining of information from the institutions publications which will populate a webpage aimed for targeted searching and retrieving of specific publications and their data and characteristics.Furthermore, I worked on a project where a ML model was built to test its ability to suggest suitable treatments/drug options for patients with leukaemia. I coded a rule-based model that was tested against the ML model to compare its performance and accuracy. Show less
