  VA Acquisition Academy Competency Assessment Center Development and Program Management

  This $10M program supported the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the creation of a competency assessment center for the VA's acquisition professionals. Effort included identifying and creating key competencies in the Program Management, Contracting, and Contracting Officers Technical Representative fields. Through a pre-test, training, and post-test process, acquisition professionals are able to identify their educational strengths and areas needing improvement. Interventions were mapped to all learning topics to support improving skill, knowledge, and ability gaps.I was initially hired to be an Instructional Designer to work on defining the acquisition competencies and developing the learning objectives for FAC-C, FAC-COR, and FAC-P/PM. In the last few months of the one-year project, I was promoted to project manager to create deliverables and close the project. We presented all deliverables and on time and under budget. Show less

This effort included observing and evaluating the training for Recovery Care Coordinators (RCCs), interviewing RCCs to identify best practices and areas for improvement, focus group discussions with Wounded Warriors and their families in both Camp Lejeune, NC, and Camp Pendleton, CA.
