  Oyster Mariculture Project

  While attending North Carolina State University's CMAST Laboratory in Morehead City, North Carolina I completed a project in which I compared the growth rate and survival of diploid oysters in floating lo-pro cages and bottom lo-pro cages. This project was conducted in the research cove behind the CMAST building where I also tracked the salinity and temperature of the water over the sampling period using an Odyssey Conductivity and Temperature Probe. This project is valuable to the mariculture industry in North Carolina as it is a very new industry with rapid growth and many economic benefits for the state. Show less
