  International Youth Leadership Award

  For several months leading up to my employment at Sky High summer camp in America, I was able to work towards and leadership award which would teach me important skills that would aid in my role. This award consisted of training days with other young women on the course as well as multiple modules and assignments to successfully complete. All together, this course allowed me to become a more confident and strong leader which, although was tailored for working internationally at an American summer camp, has helped me in roles and opportunities since.   As the arts and crafts counsellor, it was my role to create a program that would stimulate the kids as well as encourage them to be more creative whilst working together. Each program would have to be carefully curated to each age range and specific themed week. Outside of the craft hut I would work closely with other counsellors to care for the campers and ensure they enjoyed their time at Sky High Ranch.

  During my time at university I was able to volunteer at the Holden Gallery as an invigilator. In this position I was a key point of contact for visitors to the gallery if they had any questions about the art or artist, and made sure all the artwork was looked after. I also helped in the set up and take down of the exhibitions each day, as well as the original installation.
