Situated in the Rolling Mill, I was involved in the rolling, annealing and recovery processes used to manufacture cold rolled steel.• Responsible for the inspection and management of steel coils within the plant. • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills through coordinating with plant operators and process engineers to recover defected coils.• Routinely analysed rolling mill sensor and diagnostic data to evaluate strip gauge performance, weld locations and investigate mill breakdowns.• Performed data analysis techniques to produce mathematical models implemented in the machine PLC for increasing mill performance and decreasing yield loss. I was involved in the reactive and preventative maintenance of the continuous casting machines used to produce steel slabs and billets. • Interpreted and designed PLC programs to implement a fault detection system (Allen-Bradley and Modicon).• Developed a computer vision program in Python using OpenCV for product quality assurance purposes.• Implemented a Schneider Electric touch screen HMI to automate machine testing processes. • Performed fluid mechanics calculations to evaluate plant conditions.• Analysed and generated signals within ibaAnalyzer for fault finding and machine condition monitoring.
