      Head Counselor, Discovery Program Director,

Worked for two summers at Ranch Camp which focuses on character and leadership development through backpack and horsepack expeditions. First summer I did Schullery (washed dishes for the whole camp) during boy's session and was a counselor for girl's session. Received Rookie of the Year. My second summer at the camp I was in charge of the Discovery Program for boy's season; I taught the geologic, ecological, and local flora and fauna of the area as well as rewrote a manual for the leaders in following years to go by. For girl's season I was Head Counselor, responsible for communicating with all the counselors and the staff regarding issues with the program or certain kids. Show less

Served as the first intern for Global Community Innovations, a non-profit which strives to create food security and economic stability for people in developing countries through organic farming. Worked alongside two Nicaraguans who did not speak English. We consulted and travelled to visit existing clients/farmers and to start business with new farmers. Mostly worked in the coffee growing mountain region of Nicaragua. Built four greenhouses and repaired four. Created a blog (http://gcintern.weebly.com/about.html) and took photographs for the non-profit. I now serve on the youth board for this non-profit. Show less
