As the Communications Manager, my role included:– Overseeing all media activity for the organisation, working both in-house and with an external PR agency to plan, pitch and secure media coverage across Children's Books Ireland's projects and publications. - Managing our Social Media Officer to ensure Children’s Books Ireland’s content is engaging and consistent with brand image and tone of voice.– Implementing Children's Books Ireland's social media strategy to maximise engagement across X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and Youtube. – Overseeing the organisation’s digital marketing activity, including paid social campaigns, Google for Non-Profits, e-marketing and maintenance of the website.– Editing our monthly column for Irish Examiner Weekend supplement, Book Club with RTÉjr, InTouch Magazine and various other review features.– Brand strategy development and reporting, including the creation our annual Impact Report.Highlights:– Communications lead for World Book Day in Ireland 2023, responsible for the Irish roll-out of the World Book Day campaign.– PR and social media team leader for the Children's Books Ireland International Conference 2022 and 2023, both of whose hashtags trended on Irish Twitter throughout the two-day event.– Social media lead for #RightToBeAReader campaign, which successfully lobbied the government to provide funding for primary school reading materials in Budget 2022.– Project lead for the translation of www.childrensbooksireland.ie into Irish, thanks to matched funding from Foras na Gaeilge.
