      • I completed a placement as a performance engineer in combat aftermarket for Rolls-Royce where I was working on various tasks and gaining experience in both engineering and management.• Whilst working in this department I gained further insight into engineering reforming and rewriting MATLAB trending tool and validated the tool. This tool was then used to analyse data which was presented to BAE Systems. • In this role I was able to undertake project management for two tasks. I was leading a team of two and working alongside another colleague project managing a much larger project with a team of more than 20, were my main tasks were tracking and adjusting the project charter, managing the project resource and relaying information to Project Team Leads.• I had the opportunity to be able to write a pass-off trending report and analysis for an engine that Rolls-Royce manufactures.• I completed multiple courses whilst I was at the placement such as the Adour Extended Familiarisation Course, Holistic Gas Turbine Course and Gas Turbine Performance Course. Show less • I completed a placement as a Development Engineer within a novel multi-million-pound project, the Hybrid Electric Propulsion System: E-Fan X.• I assisted in defining the verification strategies for customer, business and aviation authority (EASA) requirements for the Electric Propulsion Unit system. o This involved hosting ‘workshops’ with system designers, gathering information from the different sub-systems and defining verification methods for different requirements.o Outside of workshops, I was involved in populating the verification strategy, and sequencing the verification programme. • I had the opportunity to take ownership and responsibility for the verification of three sub-systems (Systems, Structures & Flow paths, and Bypass & Exhausts) within the E-Fan X programme. • Technical knowledge and capability acquisition have allowed me to understand the role of different processes as standardised baselines for programme and project management within a global, multifaceted company.• This experience has given me insight and exposure to lean and modern working practices within a high-performance culture.
