      Summer Intern

I was given this opportunity as part of the Teen-Turn programme. Teen Turn is an organization that aims to encourage teenage females in pursuing careers within the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). They achieve this aim by providing teen girls with the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in a technology career environment so that they can visualize themselves in such a career when they are older. I spent 2 weeks in a tech company called Globoforce (now known as Workhuman) working with the women there to gain the experience of the ins and outs of a tech company, all with the message in mind that women can succeed in tech careers. During this internship, (Teen-Turnship) I undoubtedly gained valuable insights into the changes women can make in the STEM field. Show less

      International Summer School

The Anúna music group, (best known for their performance at The Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with Riverdance), holds an international summer school annually and I was accepted into this programme through my successful audition. The school involved everyone learning a number of Anúna songs, which have been composed by Anúna's founder, Michael McGlynn. We were lucky to have the opportunity of being taught these songs by McGlynn himself, and to sing with the Anúna choir members. We also visited the National Opera House in Wexford. Everything was in preparation for the end of summer school concert which was an opportunity for us to show our success with the pieces, and to have the wonderful experience of singing alongside the Anúna members. I also had a solo in one of the pieces. It is an unforgettable experience and I made many friends along the way. Show less

    • FLAC - Free Legal Advice Centres

      Apr 2019 - Apr 2021

I am lucky to have been elected for this position, and I am looking forward to fulfilling this role. The role includes organizing and running the FLAC clinics held in DCU where free legal advice is given by a barrister in a safe and confidential environment. This involves me contacting barristers and running mock clinics where students will use their knowledge of the law and the rights we have to solve problem questions which are designed in a manner akin to the issues that regular citizens face and hence attend these clinics to be provided with advice related to them. Nov 2019 - Nov 2019
      National Moot Competition 2019

After having acted as a bailiff for the National Moot Competition 2018, I decided I wanted to be part of one of the teams competing in it next year. This involved preparing written submissions (Memorials) and oral submissions. On the day, I constructed legal arguments on my feet for the rebuttals aspect of the competition and I engaged in conversational dialogue with the judges regarding my teams' legal points whilst using persuasiveness to sway the judges in finding for the client we represented on the day.
