New Product Development for Boots and Quorn

"Feedback from Boots and Quorn was extremely positive, and it was described as the product that did stand out with commercial possibilities."My first year-module, Principles of Product Development, required creativity and innovation together with strong research skills and business insight. As a new product technologist, I was tasked with developing a Food to Go Product for Quorn and Boots. This involved the following work streams.Market insights and research to identify trends and gaps in the Food to Go Market.Maintaining a detailed log-book of all stages of the product development from inception to final product.Marketing information including USP, nutritional claims, ingredients and allergens, costings and pricing.Producing and effectively displaying the product on Presentation Day.Presenting to an audience including representatives from Boots and Quorn.I created a Vietnamese Summer Roll as my Food to Go Product, produced with fresh healthy ingredients and Quorn pieces. For my grading, I received a first for my research report, marketing information and presentation day, and a second for the log-book. Most pleasing was the hugely positive feedback from Quorn and Boots, indicating my product stood out with commercial possibilities, as well as the feedback forms from those that sampled the product, all indicating they would buy the product.
