The research proposes to highlight a particular type of intermediary, the traditional wholesaler. Faced with the digitalization of all sectors, it is interesting to question the capacity of wholesalers to generate added value in the distribution channel. Based on the triadic methodology and the study field, it turns out that digital can change the inter-organizational relational processes. In the absence of strong demand from the downstream distribution channel, wholesalers have difficulty implementing a digital strategy that makes sense. On the other hand, this delay allows the industrialist to take the lead on informational flows, leaving the management of physical and financial flows to the traditional wholesaler. This phenomenon of partial reintermediation calls into question the relationships between the players without seeing the disappearance of the wholesaler. Show less
