Reduced weekly overtime by 31% by increasing accountability and reallocating resources/personnel to fit the needs of the department, reducing the weekly average from $13,000 to $9,000. Organized and led sweep teams and ensured the City of Tampa was restored after the Social Unrest/Emergency Response activation.Restructured reporting procedures to streamline communication efforts and promote uniformity throughout the department. As well as, drafting multiple job descriptions, S.O.P.’s, and spearheading a new pilot Apprenticeship Program. Reduced the departments vacancy rate by hiring 13 employees in less than six months, completely filling all available positions. Led my staff in the restoration of over 1,000 linear feet of multi modal trail while coordinating the repairs with TECO, Resurfacing and the local HOA. I also reinvigorated the ponding repair program establishing a monthly quota of two repairs versus the previous standard of one repair per six months. As the Resurfacing Supervisor I supervise 17 employees, we are tasked with the complete removal and replacement of asphalt streets via milling and complete resurfacing. Organized and led the removal and resurfacing of the crosswalk across from Rampello Magnet School for the Mayor’s Crosswalks to Classrooms Initiative. I also led the third phase of the Sun Bay South resurfacing project, resulting in 6.13 lane miles resurfaced.Planned work activities for right of way maintenance teams that focused on reactive/proactive asphalt repairs, to include; pothole, delamination, utility cut out, alley, multi-modal trail, and edge of pavement repairs. Established new performance metrics for the Mayors Dashboard. The new performance metric provided full insight of the monthly asphalt repairs in the City of Tampa.Identified over 300 unacknowledged open work orders, reported, disseminated and addressed the backlog in a period of two months.
