  As a Teacher's Assistant under Dr. Kurt Vogel, I encouraged students to look into the history of Animal Welfare, specifically for agricultural animals. I helped Dr. Vogel to demonstrate through in-class discussions as well as hands-on lab experience to teach other college students about animals behaviors and correct management. Aside from assisting with teaching course material, I also graded class exams and projects.

  The pre-operative duties of this role include the sedation, anesthetic monitoring, intubation, and catheter placement (intravenous and arterial) of the large animals used for procedure on nonGLP and GLP studies. Post-operatively, this position is responsible for anesthetic recovery of chronic procedural animals as well as data collection, analgesic assessments, and drug administration (IM, IV, SQ) for animals per protocol requirements and veterinary direction. In this position, I performed general husbandry tasks as well as performed tasks outlined by staff veterinarians. Both GLP and nonGLP studies were abided by for all protocol specifications and data collection during any animals' in-life period. Day to day, specimen collections, clinical observations, post-operative recoveries, and other data collection filled my schedule.
