      PhD researcher in the Female Health and Wellbeing research groupMember of the research group in breast health at the University of PortsmouthTitle: The impact of a breast education intervention on adolescent girls’ breast knowledge, attitudes to breasts and engagement with positive breast habits: a mixed methods study• Designing a developmentally appropriate breast survey for use with adolescents aged >11 years, that considers adolescents’ characteristics and developmental stages • Conducting multi-stage research with 1885 adolescent girls and 15 breast health experts to establish the survey validity and reliability with tests including face and content validity (using quantitative and qualitative methods such as Lawshe method and cognitive interviewing), item analysis, internal and test-retest reliability, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis• Implementing and evaluating the impact of a breast education intervention in a mixed methods, controlled, longitudinal, cohort study in two control schools (n = 412) and two intervention schools (n = 375), utilising the breast survey and focus groups, over a period of six months• Collecting and analysing survey data and focus group (n: 6) in the schools• Comprehensive literature review* This research has positively contributed to the health and wellbeing of adolescent females relating to breasts and breast health.
