Responsibilities• Determine and resolve the starting issues found with the Sandpiper - vertical bulk material conveyor. • Gain an understanding of how the Sandpiper system works and how it operates. Then develop a details guide as to know to transport, start and shut down the Sandpiper. • Remove the 82 class Locomotive modules; these are the CPU, ADA, and three DIO modules. The modules are then inspected for any damage and repaired if necessary. The modules are cleaned in soapy water and then dried with compressed air, finally left in an oven to remove any moisture. The MEM module and power modules, PRG and PSM modules, are inspected for damage and cleaned with compressed air. • Assist Engineers and supervisors with tasks such as :- Removing traction motors from locomotives in the drop pits. - Inspecting locomotives both at the Port Kembla Site and in the inner city harbour. Nov 2016 - Jan 2021

In 2019 I was promoted to a managing role with an engineering focus which involved a more holistic responsibility to the business operation. Hence a realignment as a Production Engineer. The first part of my current position involves examining specific parts of the production line and looking for opportunities to develop improved outcomes through a project based management system. I have led a number of projects. All of these projects are underpinned by high levels of collaboration with management and employees. A high priority is to ensure that all Work Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to at all times, to create a safe work environment for all members of the staff and contractors who may be on site. A key point also involves working strictly within budget guidelines. The second part of my current position involves the management of staff within the production process. My team consists of two junior Engineers and two machine operators that work on the lines during production. The responsibilities of this part of my position involve:● Allocation of duties involving both short term tasks and longer term projects● Training of staff● Ongoing reporting to the company management team ● Performance management of my team.● Managing contractors on site● Overseeing the general maintenance requirements of the plant Show less Over three ago I began working for United Beverages as a mechatronics engineer. As this was the initial start up for the business in the manufacturing and packaging of beverages, I was involved from the beginning with the development and commissioning of a multi million dollar manufacturing line consisting of eleven fully automated machines. The point of difference was to be able to not only package our own product but also to be able to package beverages for other businesses that needed a bespoke packaging service. This meant that the production line required to be able to be completely flexible in utilising a wide range of changing materials and processes in a very short time frame. My initial employment centred around the commissioning and optimising of this equipment within the ever changing requirements of day to day production. In more detail the position involved:● Assisting with commissioning of machinery within United Beverages● Optimising and trouble shooting day to day operational issues with machinery involved in the production process.● Developing detailed knowledge of how each machine operates● Developing systems and approaches to deal with the rapidly changing needs of different clients● Constant reviewing of the production line, whilst operational, to achieve maximum efficiency and production objectives. Oct 2021 - Jun 2023
      Process Engineer

Dux manufactures gas, electric, solar, continuous flow and heat pump style hot water systems using two main production lines, assembly and tank making, and employees over 100 people in the southern highlands. I am working in a team of 4 as a process engineer with a focus on the tank making production line, which involves taking steel coils then cutting, forming, welding and enamelling them to produce a tank for use in a hot water system. The position involved aiding day-to-day production to ensure that the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets were meet along with identifying and executing continuous improvement projects. I was elected as the process engineer responsible for the Cut-To-Length-Line and Press Shop, which meant I had to develop detailed knowledge of both processes. The Cut-To-Length-Line takes a steel coil flattens and cuts it into either a cylinder or dome blank as the begin process in creating a tank. The Press Shop takes the dome blank and forms either a top or bottom dome ready to be welded onto each end of a cylinder to form a tank. In more detail the position involved:• Developing detailed knowledge of the operation of the machines I am responsible off. • Design of mechanical components using Solidworks to be manufactured either internally or externally.o The site also utilized an EPDM (Enterprise Product Data management) system to organise and store Solidworks drawings which I utilized• Monitoring, Modifications and improvements to Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programs.• Undertake continuous improvement projects using a Project Gates approach and present findings to relevant stakeholders within the company. • Utilize process data analysis to correctly identify the root cause of problems. • Work in collaboration with Research and Development on integration of new products Show less
