  Design Intern

  Designed and Implemented a Jig in a Mechanical Machine Press to improve the Concentricity of Wire Drawing Pellets.• The problem faced by the operators was varying and high Concentricity values which necessitated checking during the pressing operation of every batch.• Initially, data was collected by varying various parameters to identify the primary cause for the presence of Concentricity in the WDP.• This data was analyzed using the software Minitab 14.• The misalignment of the top punch with the die in the press was identified to be the primary reason.• Using Solidworks, a Jig was designed to rectify this misalignment.• This Jig was manufactured and implemented into production.• The concentricity values reduced by a factor of 20% and had marginal variations which negated the need for checking after every cycle and the desired objective was achieved.
