Thesis focus: Characterization of a new human carboxylesterase 2 (hCES2) inhibitor for the attenuation of clinical side effects generated by the hCES2-mediated conversion of chemotherapeutic CPT-11 (prodrug) into its active SN-38 (drug) form.   Identifying unique cell surface targets on cultured cells, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse models, and patient pediatric leukaemia cells using 1) bottom-up proteomics, 2) mass spectrometry and 3) flow cytometry and western blots for validation. Designed a data analysis pipeline including MaxQuant MS fragger, Spectronaut and R programming to validate identified targets.
