  Trained other project members on how to cruise timber. Cruised timber on a daily basis using a point sampling method, and typed stands using aerial photos and ocular estimates. Used Trimble GPS unite to navigate to plots, and used hypsometers to measure total heights of trees.

  Marked timber ahead of second thinning, cruised timber to check thinning results and to purchase timber for the mill. Used surveyor maps, and compass to accurately mark property boundaries. Scaled hardwood veneer logs in the woodyard, for inventory purposes. Used TwoDog software to work up cruises. Conducted logging inspections and bmp audits for FSC compliance.

  Cruised timber using both point and fixed radius methods for inventory purposes, and to value timber holdings for private landowners. Worked on Rayonier research projects, which included spraying herbicide, spreading fertilizer, and measuring select test trees to track growth rates and the form. Participated in a needle sampling study, that tracked the nitrogen uptake of Loblolly Pine.
