I was also actively contributing to the FP7 Scalable and Adaptive Internet Solutions (SAIL) research project on the topic of Cloud Networking Resource Management.

  I was managing the development of MEICAN, which is a software platform that allows network end-users to request, in a more user-friendly way, dedicated circuits in Dynamic Circuit Networks. MEICAN also enables network operators to evaluate and accept end-users circuit requests in environments with multiple domains using either automated or manual authorization workflows.   Visiting Researcher

  I was a short-term visiting researcher at TSSG in Waterford, Ireland strengthen research ties between the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and UFRGS. During this period I worked with empirical estimates of effective bandwidth for network-aware placement of virtual machines in datacenters. In addition, I did some initial assessments on communication patterns of map-reduce applications over software-defined networks.

  As a postdoctoral researcher I am part of a project entitled FUTEBOL: Federated Union of Telecommunications Research Facilities for an EU-Brazil Open Laboratory. FUTEBOL aims to develop and deploy research infrastructure, and an associated control framework for experimentation, in Europe and Brazil, that enables experimental research at the convergence point between optical and wireless networks. FUTEBOL is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 for research, technological development, and demonstration, as well from the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) through RNP and CTIC.
