      Camp Crimson Orientation Guide

      Camp Crimson is a part of the Orientation and Transfer Programs that occurs during the summer. The camp introduces freshmen and transfer students onto campus. Throughout this camp, students gain mentors, learn about resources on campus, and go through a diversity experience. There are five sessions of camp to welcome over 2,500 students onto campus. 450 Small Group Leaders, who are current students, give a week of their time and the rest of the school year to guide students through their university experience. Camp Crimson Staff, a group of about 37 students, puts on the camp experience and works all sessions of camp. My job as an Orientation Guide on Camp Crimson Staff included: - Interviewing and selecting small group leaders out of a pool of over 800 students - Leading 30 small group leaders as they welcomed over 250 students to the University of Oklahoma.- Introducing a namesake (OU faculty) to small group leaders, incoming freshmen, and transfer students.
