As the second shift Maintenance Planner, I worked with hourly and management to make improvements on the shop floor. I had specifically been involved in writing and implementing TIS’s in the GRX Assembly Room. Working with the day shift maintenance planner, we wrote TIS’s that allowed any team member to validate/calibrate Atlas-Copco Nutrunners. I also saw a need to create PowerPoints that have larger pictures and clearer directions. Also worked with the GMS Team to create TIS’s that correspond to the common PM’s done in the plant. They created a Flex Chart that truly shows Group Leaders which tradespeople on the shop floor needs more training so our Maintenance Team can be more flexible Show less In my time at GM, I have tried my best to take advantage of the opportunities at Romulus. As an electrical technician I quickly learned my job and gained an understanding of the equipment. This led me to becoming the Team Leader in Heads on second shift. With help from my Group Leader, we worked as a team using GMS to run our day-to-day business. Being mindful of our goals, we were able to improve our MTTR to be the best out of the three shifts. This was attained while being challenged by gaining 4 out of 6 team members that had never worked in Heads. As team leader, I had to train the new team, ensuring they learned the safety requirements and gaining an understanding of the equipment. I had to learn my team’s strengths and weaknesses. Learning who could be left to complete a task, while sending others on EM calls helped our MTTR. Maintenance Toolbox also allowed us to target the problem issues on the Headline. When we had time, our team would investigate the issues at hand and make corrections, fixing the issue and gaining insight into problems and how to correct them more quickly. Show less
