  Designing:- Analogue electronics (buffers, amplifiers, filters, sensors) to be interfaced to a (high speed) LeCroy / CAMAC Data Acquisition (dataloggers) and Data General SCADA System);- Digital electronics (automating filmtransport Imacon (Streak-) camera);- Optical/fiber/laser (i.e. AlGaAs, Ar+ (3 Watt optical), HeNe, N2 pumped dye (Rhodamine), Ruby (i.e. Class I to Class IV lasers)) based measurement techniques (plasma line absorbtion / emission, spectroscopy, laser anemometry (sampled at 80 mega-samples/s) for supersonic gasflow measurements) for the Magneto Hydrodynamic (MHD) Blow Down installation;- High Speed photography (16 mm (1000 fr./s) + Imacon (100 nanosecond exposures + streak mode);- Ultra high vacuum technology for Cs calibration;- Operating the installation (in 3 shifts) during test runs (in 24 hour re-heating mode) and subsequently evaluating en optimizing test run results for the next 24 hour cycle;- New optics alignment method introduced reducing alignment times from weeks to days.- 3-rd Systems Engineering experience;- A truly Multi-Disciplinary team: Mechanical Engineering, (Plasma-) Physics, Aerodynamics, Power Electronics, (Laser-) OpticsThe project was initially hampered by material problems, which were solved in the months before my arrival.
