      Jan 2017 - Feb 2018
      Research Assistant

 Gathered and analyzed data while extrapolating information for a linguistics study in the evolution of the French language in Canada. Independently researched discursive markers in the Canadian French dialect, created data categories for the research, and spent time listening and reading transcriptions from interviews conducted in the Montreal region. Formulated data spreadsheets on Excel compiling all information used to complete and publish the international study, as well as consulted with my professor, the leading researcher of the project, on where the project is headed and what information needs to be focused on. This project taught me about the complex variations of language within a particular area, as well as how to interpret, gather, and categorize various data while drawing logical conclusions.
