      Metal Worker/Welder

I started off as a Foundry assistant and circulated all departments in the company i.e. sand moulding/bronze casting, wax & rubber/fibreglass moulding, ceramic shelling as well as metal chasing/patina & welding department. I've learned and grasped the basics in every area but ended up delving into metal chasing, patinating & welding department most due to my love of manipulating and sculpting metal. I've worked on some major projects such as the 'Eclectic Grace' which now stands at the University of Aberdeen, or 'Athena' which was commissioned for the London Olympics with the aim of breaking the record of the tallest erected bronze sculpture in UK, now proudly overlooks the London City Airport.I've also taken part in learning glass manipulation techniques and glass art projects whilst expanding the prospects of the company for the range of art production. • JONATHAN WOOD VINTAGE & THOROUGHBRED RESTORATIONS LIMITED

      May 2013 - Jan 2015
      Workshop Assistant

I worked as a workshop assistant, mainly responsible for house keeping/cleaning of the workshop, tools/parts, re-stocking usables/ordering products/parts, taking care of gardening, valeting, deep cleaning, high quality polishing on vintage cars, subsequently preparing such cars for concourses and showcases or prior to finalising restoration & delivery to customers. On top of that I would be running delivery/collection errands across the country, later transitioning into paint shop work and getting more involved in projects regarding car restoration such as re-wiring electrical systems, repairs, servicing, fabricating custom car parts or bespoke tooling/frames for engine work etc. settling more into previously gained skills as a metal worker. • TAMAR ENERGY (HOLDINGS) LIMITED

      Jan 2015 - Nov 2018
      Site Operator

      • Daily loading of the plant feedstock• Operation of the whole plant including our heat processing facility• Working with maintenance fitters to ensure the plants are fully maintained (Replacing pumps, shafts and other components as needed)• Electrical and mechanical fault finding on pumps and motors.• Assisting in plant maintenance, supervising a range of subcontractors when required for O&M tasks using a PPM regime.• Continual improvement of the site PPM regime and daily work procedures• Goods reception and registration and stock control• Ensuring compliance with emergency procedures• Quality assurance programmes such as PAS110 • Monitor operations using KPI’s• Accident reporting• Conducting regular site safety checks• Cleaning and house keeping of the whole site• Control of risks and hazards, including issue of risk assessment and method statements for works and access, etc.I had to monitor, repair, service, optimise as well as operate all AD plant machinery. Due to the industry being in its early stages in UK, some of it was in prototype form. Modifying and adapting the machinery to suit the plant needs was often necessary and required a lot of problem solving in its inception. Whilst using a telehandler on a daily basis in order to load feedstock into the AD plant as well as maintain the 'foodhall' where deliveries of food waste were made, I was responsible for liaising with transport drivers directly. This meant organising & operating as well as overseeing the logistics, health & safety and storage handling of important deliveries, such as food waste & hazardous chemicals. A substantial awareness of health & safety, hygiene and hazards was crucial. Liaising with a range of technical specialists also gave me an opportunity to learn a lot about the entire system in its place. This meant that I've acquired a vast knowledge about the AD process and was subsequently equipped with the acumen to handle everyday pressures of operating an AD Plant. Show less

    • Crystal Clear Ltd.

      Dec 2018 - May 2019
      Property Maintenance

Working as a property maintenance/handyman/cleaner across Essex UK which involved specialist and general cleaning of the properties inside and out, cleaning windows with pure water systems at heights, along with carrying out repairs & fixes on property items such as de-rooting and unblocking, drains, repairing cracked or blocked gutters, re-pointing patios, deep cleaning decks, terraces & driveways with high pressure jet wash machines.I was sub-contracting to a limited company called Crystal Clear and responsible for a patch of properties across Essex, sometimes focusing on a single project, but often working alongside other colleagues on variety of properties and engaged actively in canvassing for new work and projects. All in all it was a fast paced work environment where logistics and timing mattered a lot in order to get as much done in a day as possible, whilst retaining high standards and allowing for liaising with a large number of existing customers every day.
