  I gained practical firsthand air quality experience as an Air Resource Technician II in the Visual Emissions Training Program at the California Air Resource Board (CARB). I understood and applied program policies and procedures as well as CARB’s air pollution regulations and standards. I mastered the operation and maintenance of a complex smoke generator used for training which allowed me to evaluate air pollution firsthand. I took the initiative to develop a user friendly operations manual for other technicians in the Visible Emissions Training Program. The vast majority of my time with CARB was spent developing relationships with program staff, air quality districts, and other air quality professionals to provide training and further improve the Visual Emissions Training Program.
