      Wood Shop Specialist

As a wood-shop specialist I planned and delivered daily lessons to groups of children, including building bird-houses, chairs and projects of their own. I assisted with a variety of sporting activities each day, including football and hockey. I oversaw a group of eight boys aged 12-13 who I lived with for the duration of camp and helped in day-to-day activities. This group was my responsibility throughout my entire time at camp, requiring my constant attention. Skills gained include problem solving, teaching, time management, and the responsibility of children. Show less

      Personal Support Worker

One-on-one care for residents who suffer with a range of disabilities and mental health problems. I assist with all day-to-day activities, including preparing meals and medication. Intense training was required, including Mental Capacity Act training, Epilepsy training and health and safety. This role required constant attention-to-detail and excellent communication skills, because of the different ways each resident communicated and what action was needed to meet the needs and understand all signs. This has improved my communication skills and leadership skills. Show less

      Sports Educator

I worked as a sports coach in a range of primary schools around Kent where I held a good relationship with all pupils and staff. I would carry out P.E. lessons, lunchtime clubs and after school clubs following the national P.E. curriculum. Alongside teaching sports, I assisted with maths and English lessons and reading with SEN (Special Educational Needs) pupils in groups and one-to-one sessions. This position requires a good understanding of all sports, including gymnastics and athletics, and the skill to teach them to children of all ages and abilities.
