  I started off as a checkout cashier while completing my GCSE exams. I continued the role during my a-levels and also the first two years of my degree while being trained in the cigarette kiosk and the customer service desk. During my third year I started training as a Team Leader so during this time I gained the skills to balance the time between studying for my team leader assessment and completing my university work.As a team leader I had handle pressure when the department was busy and know when it was the right time to call for extra members of staff. Time management skills were also critical with the role as I had to prioritise the tasks that had to be done and manage the cashiers ensuring they get adequate breaks and leave on time.As a result of working at Sainsbury's I have gained excellent customer service skills and knowledge of how the retail industry works.
