York, a global Air Conditioning manufacturer had chosen the Lawson ERP suite for roll-out to countries in the European and African division. I was recruited to join the Programme Management Office (PMO) to help develop the strategic roll-out plan for the division. York had twelve countries in the Europe/Africa division and each had to be assessed for suitability for the Lawson implementation. My role covered high level requirements gathering, process modelling, gap analysis and project prioritising for this engineering, manufacturing and supply chain business. The PMO adopted the PRINCE2 methodology and each country assessment was treated as an individual project. The PO was responsible for developing a Lawson ERP business case for each country which considered:• business structure, business plans, turnover and margins;• products, parts stock, suppliers;• current IT systems, staff resources and costs;• cost of Lawson project, return on investment;• impact assessment and gap analysis. • Eastern Energy

      Jan 2000 - Jan 2001
      Business Analyst

To provide a new marketing channel for it’s products, Eastern had invested in a newly formed dot.com company (Servista). To enable the launch of the new service, an integration project was initiated to provide working systems capable of supporting the first year of the business plan. As the project Business Analyst, I documented the business requirements and developed the functional specification for the integration project. The addition of a Telco product to Eastern’s portfolio of products and services required an integration project to combine the retail processes of Eastern, Vertex, Eastern’s outsourced customer service provider and QUIP, Eastern’s Telco partner. I managed the Process and IT workstream in a multi-skilled project team covering the disciplines of Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Finance, IT and Legal/Regulatory. In workshops, planned and facilitated by myself, the Process and IT team developed all the integrated support processes between the three business partners for the new product. Show less

      Business Analyst

In pursuing the collection of duties and to assist the investigation of fraud and illegal trafficking, the HMCE processes and stores large volumes of reference data. Some reference data is provided by external suppliers. I was recruited by HMCE to investigate the requirements for such data across the organisation, the current supply contracts and recommend a strategy for streamlining supply in order to remove duplication and drive down costs. Following a series of workshops, interviews and meetings designed to identify data store requirements, sources and costs, I wrote a report recommending future actions designed to realise the required objectives and benefits of the project. The report was well received and handed to a Contracts Manager for realisation. Show less

      Business Analyst

Following the development of a prototype, TXU’s Industrial/Commercial (I&C) division successfully won internal venture capital to fund an eCommerce project with the objective of launching an Energy Management Web site. I developed the Requirements Specification for the new site following workshops with the Energy Management team. I was also tasked with re-engineering the business processes within Energy Management to ensure improved efficiencies were obtained from the new web based service. During the workshops I documented the ‘as is’ processes and developed, with the engagement of the team, the ‘to be’. All processes were recorded in Visio. During the workshops I also developed the logical data model and confirmed the mapping to the industry energy data required to be held. The Requirements Specification formed the basis for the supplier selection stage. During the development phase I quality assured all supplier deliverables to ensure TXU’s requirements were being met at all times. I also developed the migration plan with the objective of migrating existing added value customers from the prototype to the new subscription based service. Show less
