Sept 2018 - now*Promoted to GS12 - As a member of Safety Division, serves as Marine Corps Base Quantico Traffic Safety Branch Manager, responsible for managing garrison mobile equipment military licensing programs that include heavy equipment, material handling forklift, tractor trailer, light utility vehicle, passenger bus, etc. courses available to all servicemember and civilian personnel aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ) and capitol region installations. Responsible for overseeing contracted motorcycle operator courses such as Basic Rider Courses and Advanced Riders Courses. Responsible for base roadway safety, coordinating with Public Works and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command to plan road improvement projects ensuring safe roadways for MCBQ personnel. Coordinates with U.S. Army certified traffic engineers to conduct traffic surveys and studies to validate roadway construction projects. Manages branch budget and supply requests. Uses USMCMAX work request system to submit work requests to Public Works for roadway hazards. Conducts Welcome Aboard Briefs to all newly joined servicemembers to MCBQ, identifying local hazards and mandatory safety requirements. Manages multiple supply asset accounts totaling an overall amount of over $70k. • Initiated dialogue and scheduling of Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) traffic engineering studies for roadway improvement project validation.Results: SDDC Transportation Engineering Agency provides a no cost service to all military installations, where certified traffic engineers conduct base wide traffic engineering and safety studies that can validate M2R2 to MILCON level projects.
