I had a full-time position as an external auditor.Responsibilities:• During my final year at LHM, I performed the responsibilities of a senior auditor, responsible for an audit team, the delegation of audit tasks, and overseeing the audit procedures. I was the first point of contact with the client while on audit, and I was in direct communication with the client throughout the audit. This department specialises in providing financial advice to large corporates, multinationals and shared service centres. This advice provided spans effective financial reporting, global compliance reporting and complex accounting advice and restructuring.Based in a US Multinational where I was responsible for preparing and presenting financial statements for year-end in local GAAP. This involves liaising with outsourced service providers in EMEA jurisdictions. Other responsibilities include liaising with the internal financial team in the preparation of accounts, ensuring completeness of corporate tax returns, and reviewing/finalising year-end reconciliations. There is also an element of analytical reviews of full sets of financial statements with consideration of market environment and year-on-year trends. I also will be preparing audit files for a number of entities.For 15 months I was for the global compliance of their subsidiaries based in EMEA, APAC and North America. This involved ensuring local and statutory VAT and corporate tax compliance. There was also an emphasis on advisory services relating to taxation issue resolution in local jurisdictions. I also assisted multiple entity start-ups which involved providing guidance on incorporation and registration within local jurisdictions.
