  My research included the synthesis of manganese oxide nanoparticles with high porosity and surface area, which often take form in a sphere “yolk-shell” hollow structure and applied them as catalysts in hazardous waste remediation. I completed an individual project looking into the filter capabilities of MnOx by observing its absorption of various dyes such as methylene blue as a model compound for organic pollutants. I worked towards the goal of being able to individually run my own project with minimal supervision.
