  As of July 2024, Andrew D. Choi, MD is the Director of Noninvasive Cardiology, Co-Director of Multimodality Cardiac Imaging and Professor of Medicine and Radiology at The George Washington University School of Medicine / GW Medicine. As an expert in multimodality imaging, his leadership at GW includes the echocardiography and stress laboratories as well as expanded, appropriate use of novel imaging techniques including Cardiac CT, Cardiac MRI and interventional/3D echocardiography through a broad and diverse team that advises physicians and patients in a wide spectrum of cardiovascular disorders including CAD, structural heart disease and cardiomyopathies. He is researcher and collaborator in multimodality imaging with a particular passion in Cardiac CT that aims to utilize this novel technique for improved patient care outcomes. He also serves patients in the DC metropolitan region through clinical stewardship of the GW Complex Lipid Program. As a scholar he has published over 200 abstracts and publications in cardiac CT, multimodality imaging and artificial intelligence/machine learning in atherosclerosis imaging, has developed several guideline and expert consensus documents, lectured globally and led numerous initiatives and education in the field. Dr. Choi is a GW School of Medicine alumnus, graduating as the Allie S. Freed Awardee in Preventive Medicine, as well as GW undergraduate degrees in Music (Honors) and Computer Science (Magna Cum Laude). He trained in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (NY), Cardiology at Georgetown University and in Advanced CV Imaging for 2 years as the Inaugural Fellow in a joint program at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute-National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Washington Hospital Center. At GW Medicine, Dr. Choi has an active practice in general and consultative cardiology while being actively involved in student, resident and fellow physician education. Show less
