  Graduate Scheme - 1998 to 1999 working at Gaydon and Solihull. Pre-Concept Department / advance engineering until 2000.During his time with Rover Group Joel gained a patent for a design feature for Land Rover vehicles.

  Development Engineer

  Undertaking design and development of a range of garden power tools. Noise testing, field testing, standards compliance, design of components. 4 months secondment to Miskolc, Hungary to investigate low cost suppliers for power tool products.

  Product Manager

  Responsible for the design and development of garden products and garden buildings. Working with suppliers and design teams in the UK, Europe and China.

  Comair Rotron

  Sept 2005 - Mar 2008

  Project Manager

  Management of a major fan cooling tray project for Alcatel Lucent Technologies to be rolled out worldwide with an estimated $3.5 million turnover per year. While design and development of the OneBTS unit was in the UK production was established in Tijuana and Joel spent time with the production team in both the US and Mexico establishing the line.

  Managing Consultant

  Adept Management is a specialist consultancy providing planning, management and project controls support to clients delivering programmes of work and complex capital projects. Joel joined Adept Management in early 2008 and, during his time with the business, has worked with a multitude of international clients on a diverse range of projects within the construction sector. His specialism is in managing design by using his background and qualifications in the discipline together with his interpersonal skills to define, embed and manage the complex process of design. In addition to these commissions he has also undertaken many diverse consultancy roles ranging from working practise modernisation to auditing and strategic support.Recent commissions have seen Joel working for ARUP on HS2, RQ Construction for the US Navy and for Wates Construction as MMC Advisor.
