  My primary responsibility as the Operations Manager was to manage 60-75 employees that reported to me. This included hiring, firing, promotions, training, and other activities. I planned the labor and equipment budget for my distribution center for the year and was responsible for controlling costs. I developed and managed the required capabilities and processes to fulfill the promises and expectations for our diverse range of customers. As part of my role I analyzed and re-slot the entire warehouse to gain greater efficiency in order picking. With a team of my peers we designed the layout of our newest facility and executed the closing of one facility, relocation, and opening of our new Ohio facility. I created the warehouse, locations, and settings for the new facility in our WMS system. I also mapped where each SKU is located physically so the new manager could direct the set up of the facility.I functioned as the Operations lead for the implementation of a new WMS, Microsoft Dynamics AX. Show less As the Traffic Manager at Forney Industries I was responsible for managing all of the freight and logistics. This included international factories in Europe and Asia as well as domestic suppliers and customers. As the Traffic Manager I planned the annual budget and kept costs aligned with revenue. I worked to get the most competitive rates and service levels by creating and maintaining relationships with key business partners. Invoices were reviewed for accuracy to ensure we receive appropriate charges and find ways to reduce cost. I consistently analyzed market rates and met with suppliers and potential suppliers to maintain our competitive edge in transportation costs. Show less Responsible for the accuracy of several million dollars of inventory at the Fort Collins warehouse of Forney Industries. I proactively found and solved inventory issues by creating and managing a weekly cycle count program. In addition to this role I took on many other projects including extensive involvement in the implementation of a new ERP system. Some of my responsibilities included training the operations team, testing, and process ducementation. Over the course of three months I planned the relocation of our entire warehouse along with the Operations Manager and COO. I was an integral part in designing the layout of our new warehouse and designed the entire packaging department using the concept of work cells. Show less As the procurement intern at Forney Industries I was given responsibilities that had a real impact on the company. I was responsible for designating what product needed to be transferred from our Colorado warehouse to our New York warehouse on a weekly truck. I analyzed cancellations and low inventory levels to determine if product needed to be ordered or expedited. If material needed to be expedited I contacted the suppliers to arrange an earlier ship date. I also created and managed a kanban system in the warehouse to signal the Procurement team to order more inventory. Show less

  Scheduling Manager

  As a Scheduling Manager at JBS I'm in charge of all boxed beef and trim scheduling at our plant in Omaha, Nebraska. I'm also responsible for all trim scheduling at our plant in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Scheduler manages the cattle slaughter forecast which is the foundation for all forward sales activity. In this role I coordinate with sales and pricing to drive revenue and profit goals by making and selling the right products, at the right time, for the best price. I serve as the intersection of the sales, cattle procurement, operations, shipping, and pricing departments. I synchronize the efforts of all departments to ultimately deliver on our promises to customers. As Scheduling Manger I own and improve the production accuracy and on time shipping KPIs. Show less
