Conducted research on biological and cultural controls for a root pathogen, Phytophthora cinnamomi. This body of research characterized microbiological aspects of mulching systems through traditional microbiological techniques and enzyme analyses, and helped to clarify the role of microbial-produced cellulase enzymes in the biological control of Phytopthora spp.
