  Human Factors Research Assistant

  Administered participant sessions to assess attitudes towards embedded and wearable technology. Moderated remote A/B user testing on a Veteran's Affairs Hospital Environmental Control Unit (ECU) as part of a design team to improve the ECU's user experience. Created and presented a capstone project on user perceptions of ECU task performance and effort, along with sex differences. Post-processed participant data in a timely manner on Microsoft Excel, which included surveys and questionnaires such as the system usability scale (SUS) and NASA Task Load Index (TLX). Attended weekly research meetings with a multi-disciplinary design team to discuss ECU project progress.   Utilized ARIA, JAWS, WAVE, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 to evaluate the accessibility of websites for clients in a timely manner. Presented clear and concise recommendations to remediate accessibility issues. Created instructional videos for website accessibility evaluations to maximize UX benefits. Successfully administered in-person research sessions to examine accessibility instruction effectiveness. Remediated accessibility issues in PDF documents on Adobe Acrobat. Positively collaborated with others to write technical reports on accessibility evaluation findings. Collaborated with CSULB's Division of Information Technology through discussing evaluations.   Performed heuristic evaluations on physical signage. Interviewed representatives from the Volunteer Services, Guest Relations, and Graphic Design departments to identify user challenges at the aquarium, such as finding exhibits. Created and delivered a technical report with recommendations to enhance the aquarium’s accessibility and the overall user experience.
