      Assistant in Nursing

Primarily within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, I performed nursing and administration tasks to the highest standard while following local policies and procedures to support person-centred care as delegated by and in collaboration with the nursing and healthcare team. I also went above and beyond to improve clinical area efficiency, organisation, and safety. This included initiating and implementing more appropriate and updated storage systems, signage, and task management tools while remaining within scope. Show less

      Street Health Faculty Member

The Street Health Faculty is a dynamic nurse-led network spearheaded by Chair Sonia Martin MACN. Committed to addressing the healthcare needs of individuals experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in Australia, the faculty aligns with the global inclusion health agenda, aiming to rectify health and social inequities among the most vulnerable populations. Our focus and vision encompass various crucial aspects. We are dedicated to improving data sharing and research, providing support at the intersection of hospitals and homelessness, advocating for socialised healthcare models, establishing shared approaches to clinical governance for homeless health services, offering continuous professional development (CPD) and networking support, and actively shaping policies in Australia to serve vulnerable populations in their pursuit of health equity. The knowledge we gain via research and networking, will inform our priorities and guide our next steps in education, advocacy, and policy development. Education initiatives will play a pivotal role, supporting our broader visions of improving healthcare data, promoting socialized models, enhancing clinical governance, and influencing policy changes. Mar 2024 - Feb 2025

I am excited to expand my role at OneBridge as the appointed infection prevention and control lead and coordinator. IPC within vulnerable communities poses unique challenges when considering social and environmental determinants in combination with resource availability. This role will help OneBridge to improve the safety and care of our supported communities and staff. I am looking forward to making meaningful and sustainable contributions using an evidence-based approach for the promotion and development of IPC in this area. Show less
