My time completing this course helped me to develop skills in working alone, working on long term projects and focusing on key career goals.

      Whilst at Myerscough I worked as a volunteer on the race and rally teams. My role within the team varied and increased through out the years. I ran the hospitality area for the team at the Grizedale Rally, this involved the planning, set-up and cooking for around forty people including drivers, mechanics and marshals. I was the team coordinator for the college's 2001 campaign on the North-West Formula Ford 1600 championship. Whilst doing this role I had to book testing, make sure we were race legal on non-mechanical matters, monitor timing and the car's progress. The team finished as top novice in the North-West championship as well as having a strong showing in the Star of Midlands Championship. In 2002 I continued with my team coordinator role within the Myerscough team. The highlight of the Season being two class win's in the Winter Series. In 2003 I was in charge of all logistical and marketing matters for the College's assault on the Northern Formula Ford Zetec Championship. In this role I was in charge of transport, activity organization (including briefings etc) documentation such as movement schedules, press releases and potential sponsorship material, we took the championship title and was the only car in the championship to score points at every round. I also took part in the colleges Formula Ford Festival program's and helped with the Rally car's events at club meetings as well as the Ka Rally championship.Whilst performing these duties I learnt the principles of project and team management, how to keep to deadlines how to write feasibility reports for new projects, how to organise human and other resources and how to keep a team of people working well throughout a project life cycle.       Whilst at Myerscough College I was the course tutor for FdSc courses in the Motorsport and Mechanisation Accademy. This role involved a lot of pastoral work with around 45 students dealing with welfare issues for young adults at the start of their professional lives. As a module tutor my work includes preparing/delivering lectures, setting assignments, coaching students and general lecturing duties.The subjects I lectured in where; logistics, marketing products and services, event management, contemporary issues in motorsport, competition team operations and project management. I also supervised student dissertation research.Within my role I also have responsibility for the motorsport team, ensuring that commercial/operational objectives are met. This involved logistical planning as well as working with technical/commercial partners. This role often involves working with stakeholders including customers (both internal and external) to contribute towards common objectives.During my time at Myerscough I developed my communication skills further whilst gaining an understanding of the education sector. This role has also allowed me to develop my knowledge of the wider motorsport sector. Show less

We supply to all levels of motorsport including Formula 1, WEC, BTCC, GT and club level competitors. This means we get to work with a wide variety of technology both historic and contemporary, bringing what we learn and our experience to a mix of situations.My role at Raceparts has involved establishing us as a distributor for new product ranges such as Prolong Super Lubricants. During this process I have worked to foster relationships in a B2B setting, developed my use of social media tools and helped to drive sales.I have also been heavily involved in build our latest website and the ongoing development of this. This includes content creation and marketing techniques as well as SEO tools and working with Google products.Out of the office I organise Raceparts' presence at trade shows in the UK and Europe (including PMW and Autosport). Often I can be seen at these events working with clients to establish how Raceparts can meet their needs going forward. On a day-to-day level I work with our clients and suppliers to ensure relationship development between organisations. I work with some of the biggest motorsport OEM's, teams and organisations across the UK and Europe. I can often attend UK motorsport events and trade shows promoting Raceparts, our range of products and our partners. Show less
