      Working under the banner of The People's Comedy becoming an artist in residence at Artspace Lifespace, supporting young working class stand-up comedians to a grand showing of their material in October 2022 in central Bristol. Working-class actors account for 16% in the industry compared to 33% of the population (LSE), stemming from the recession, acting fees, the expectation of working for free + more; 67% of British Oscar winners were privately educated compared to 6.5% of the population (Sutton Trust), and much of this applies to the stand-up circuit. Although The People's Comedy is in the process of producing a UK-first report looking at class within the stand-up circuit, it's evident that balancing through accessibility, training, grants and more is necessary and that's what the work will consist in.
