  Dissertation work: Aslan, D. U. (2021). Praxitopia: How shopping makes a street vibrant. Lund University.My dissertation project centered on a qualitative research study examining shopping activities along a local shopping street in Helsingborg. The study sheds light on various modes of shopping on these streets, exploring how these enactments co-constitute the streets and contribute meaningfully to the urban fabric. It makes a distinct contribution to both the theoretical and empirical refinement of shopping geographies from a sociocultural perspective, as well as to the field of town-center management. Throughout this exploration, the study actively engages with practice theory, offering a robust conceptual framework for analyzing everyday activities. The primary method employed was video ethnography, selected for its ability to dynamically and simultaneously capture shopping activities, shoppers’ reflections, the sensory-material environment of the street, and the movement within it.
