      Mar 2017 - Aug 2021
      Early Childhood Education Specialist

During my tenure at Snohomish Co Head Start, I advanced from a classroom assistant to lead educator. I supported a classroom of 17 three to five year old children through their earliest social learning experiences. My role was to understand and meet the needs of inclusive classrooms that supported multi-language learners, low income and historically marginalized populations, neuro-diverse learners and families receiving community subsidies. Using socially-responsive and trauma-informed curriculum, I individualized learning experiences to meet the needs and learning style of each child, lead one-on-one and small group activities throughout the school day/week, used active observation to understand and document children's growth, communicated with families, supported children's emotional and social growth using presence, reflection and acknowledgement of emotions, modeled positive conflict resolution and positive behavior guidance, developed positive relationships with each child and their families, planned and executed child-based projects using developmentally appropriate active learning techniques. Outreach Specialist

Transforming student experiences at Edmonds Community College meant more than just assisting with applications; it was about creating pathways to success and fostering a supportive environment for growth. I supported prospective students with the college application process, providing program information and support via various communication channels, and connecting students with advisors to help them develop clear academic pathways and ensure student success. I collaborated with educational agencies and community resources to recruit students for the program at Edmonds College. I developed synchronous, online workshops to support immigrant students and English language learners to navigate the college application process, set up and use their Canvas accounts, and make initial connections to college advisors.
