      Python Coding Instructor/Mentor

      Project Include is a group of dedicated engineering student volunteers who provide free coding boot camps and workshops to almost 200 youth and adults in six diverse low-income communities in the Toronto area. They are supported by Google, Lighthouse Labs and Toronto Public Libraries.As part of the coding Instructor's Team, my responsibilities were the following:1-Developed python coding curriculum and delivered them to over 130 mentees from the Greater Toronto Area.2- Delivered workshops and bootcamps to students at different locations. We hosted a total of 36 bootcamps from May-August 2016.3- Mentored students while generating their interest in coding and technology. Show less

      1- Worked with the STEM Curriculum Consultant and developed a series of workshops for the Ontario elementary students (grade 3-8) that align with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum. These workshops were compliant with the goals and standards as outlined by Actua Canada: Codemakers initiative. 2- Led Codemakers workshops with community partners - Actua Canada and Google Canada. 3- In partnership with the junior Da Vinci Engineering and Enrichment Program (Jr.DEEP) Team Leaders, supported the development and delivery of a Codemakers "pop-up" 4-day camp for students in grades 3-8.4- Developed extension activities (pre and post) for In-School workshop suite offered by Engineering Outreach Office.5- Contributed to the enhancement of all programs offered by the Engineering Outreach Office with a specific goal of bringing relevant and current technology such as Augmented Reality and 3D Printing into pre-existing and new programming.
